Nightingale PTR Portal
Our next update is available for early testing in the Public Test Realms (PTR).
Here’s what you need to know:
The new PTR branch is available on Steam only and uses the Steam Beta Branch system. You cannot have both the PTR and main branch downloaded and available at the same time (but you can freely download and redownload either version).
Online mode will not be available for this PTR as we are focused on testing our new Player Hosted Servers
You can make a new character for the PTR or download your Online Mode character to use (see instructions below)
Save progress from your PTR character cannot be carried over to the main game branch.
There will be a separate Aha portal for bugs/feedback and Discord channels to discuss PTR
In this PTR, we're introducing Nightingale City and giving you a chance to play and report issues ahead of its public launch.
To make sure everyone has a chance to play, you'll have the choice to start with a new character and a pre-set loadout, designed to fast-track you into Nightingale City. This character is only available in Nightingale City and allows you to experience everything it has to offer. As you explore, please report any issues using the Aha! Boards.
To access Nightingale City with a new character, select Offline Mode from the Main Menu and choose the "NIGHTINGALE_CITY" Shard.
If you'd rather use one of your existing characters that has progressed to The Watch, you can still enter Nightingale City by selecting the "OFFLINE" Shard instead.
Locate Nightingale in your Steam library
Right-click on Nightingale
Select “Properties”
Select the “Betas” tab
Ensure “public-test-realm” is selected under “Beta Participation”
Allow the game to install your updates
Start a new profile or you can try copy your main branch character to the PTR Offline mode
If your main branch character is in Online Mode
Sign into your account and download your character: https://auth.playnightingale.com/auth/linking/
After signing in, you should see your characters. Click it to download a zip file containing the data for your character(s).
NOTE: Characters in the "Archived" section CANNOT be used for PTR
Extract the zip file into '%localappdata%\nwx-test\Saved\Offline'
Launch Nightingale, choose Offline Mode, and select your newly imported character
If your v0.5.3 character is in Offline Mode
Press the Windows Key + R to open Run command
Enter '%localappdata%/nwx' without the '
Copy the "Saved" folder and paste it in %localappdata%/nwx-test
DO NOT move or cut the folders, make sure just to copy them
Additional Notes
Progress from the PTR branch will not sync with the main branch
We’re letting you test out our upcoming work on a listen server as part of this PTR. You’ll see two new options when starting the game. This is an early look at what we are working on and there is a lot of work left to be done, but it’s at a point where feedback will be helpful. Here are the current known issues.
Once you’ve chosen Host/Connect to a Friend, you’ll need to fully exit the game before being able to change modes.
Temp UI in the connection flow.
Passwords are ignored.
Only the Host can travel. Clients will need to ask the host to go through portals, return to respite, etc.
Plenty of bugs
Characters live on the hosts machine, and you’re unable to move a character from one host to another.
Select Host a Friend, and then enter in the port you would like to use to allow other players to connect. Then confirm, and then choose or create a character.
If players are connecting to you, they will need to know your IP address, and the port you chose. You can google for “What’s my IP address”, or visit https://icanhazip.com/ to find out your IP address.
You’ll probably also need to forward port 7777(or the port number you’ve entered) on TCP and UDP from your router to your PC if players are connecting from outside of your LAN. There’s a reasonable guide here: https://www.noip.com/support/knowledgebase/general-port-forwarding-guide on how to port forward connections to your PC. There will be a lot of different setups that people have
Select Connect to a Friend, and then enter in their IP address and port.
You’ll need to create a new character at this point which will live on the host’s machine.
After that you should be able to connect to them and play as you would expect. Please remember, the host you connect to will be responsible for travelling.
General:
Structure rotation and placement has been refined with more options
All spyglasses can now illuminate glyphs to help with any particularly challenging puzzles
Redcross knight set has improved glamour regions
New beds should have higher comfort levels to make up for the reductions from removing warmth/lit
Full crit presentation fixed on sword riposte.
Crafting bench recipes have been streamlined.
City Gameplay:
There are two brand new encounter archetypes within the city.
Nightingale Sovereigns can be found within the city. Be sure to keep an eye out for hidden areas, and new and interesting gameplay moments in the city.
After completing the Nightingale City experience, new challenges await in Boss Rush for even more of this new currency.
Tier 5 weapons and tools can be purchased with the new currency.
Tier 5 weapons and tools have new components and recipes to allow for greater parametric crafting power
Tier 5 weapons and tools can now receive 2 charms
Tier 5 weapons have unique visual treatment options both in crafting and in glamour
Tier 5 Fabled Charms can be purchased with the new currency.
Fabled charms will make fantastic changes to the behaviours and powers associated with your weapons and tools.
A new Herbalist and Regency tileset, furniture, and defensive structures can be obtained in the city.

Bug Fixes:
Fixed an issue in online mode where the incorrect tier of dye was sometimes applied.
Fixed Tudor Shelf to allow object placement on its shelves.
Fixed an issue preventing the Porter Pistol from appearing in the glamour station for customization.
Fixed the Red Cross Knight's Cuirass Gear to include a customizable shell region.
Fixed a quest issue where party members retained "Build transept" after passing through another player's transept to NGC.
Fixed an issue preventing Boss Rush quest completion when in a party.
Boosted comfort values for beds.
Fixed dye previews to ensure consistency with their final appearance.
Fixed an issue where LB/RB were double-bound on crafting stations.

Fixed issues with the consumable radial menu when using a gamepad.
Fixed an issue where changing Make Up color after using the 'Reset' button did not apply the change.
Fixed an issue where resetting EYES>DETAILS did not reset SCALE and DETAIL sliders properly.
Fixed defense encounters being startable while the Extraction Device was destroyed.
Fixed Eyelash Extensions resetting back to 66% regardless of user input.
Fixed Focal Shards incorrectly being usable in the same slots as cut gems, and Hybrid Stone replacing stone blocks.
